The posterior side of the body is also known as the dorsal side. It is the word used to describe the back half of the body which contains the back of the neck, hamstrings, all back muscles, calves, and heels. In the figure above, the skeleton on the left shows some skeletal musculature on the posterior side of the body. This word can be used to describe where the specific location of something is on the body, like a pain, for example.
