The glute bridge is an effective core exercise that mostly activates the abs, hips, and glute muscles. This exercise can be used in a dynamic warm-up to activate the core musculature. It can also be used in a core workout routine. This exercise is a good exercise to add to a beginner workout to gain leg and core strength. The glute bridge position is usually held for minutes at a time, or until muscular failure. To make the exercise more difficult it can be done with a single leg, or alternating legs.
