What is: Muscle Memory

muscle memory

A pattern that your brain and neurons create after doing a repeated movement is called muscle memory. Have you ever heard that saying “It’s like riding a bike”? When you learn to ride a bike your brain builds a pattern that will never go away. No matter how long you step away from riding a bike you will always remember how to do it. This is phenomenon occurs with many different actions. Muscle memory can even help athletes recover from injuries faster. The more often you do something the stronger the pattern your brain will create, and it will be easier to come back to doing that action even after a long period of time off.
