What is: Anaerobic Exercise

anaerobic exercise

Anaerobic exercise is intense physical activity that is done for extremely short periods of time. It does not require oxygen for the energy source. Anything done under 10 seconds is anaerobic. Activities like sprinting, plyometrics, and olympic lifting fall under this category. Fat is the main energy source during this type of training. Increases in speed and explosiveness are usually results of this type of training.
